Measuring about 25 centimetres across in diameter, it stands on four legs at a height of 7 centimetres so as to ensure that there is enough space between the trivet and the table. It is highly useful in helping prevent the scarring and scorching of table surfaces by hot serving bowls and pots. With its portable size, it is also functional in the kitchen as a chopping board suitable for cutting meat, frozen fish, carrots and other vegetables.
