Hooks
If you do not want the added expense of creating extra storage space with cabinets, cupboards, drawers, and the likes, then your next best option is to install hooks in your home.
If you and your loved ones at home constantly spend a huge amount of time looking for misplaced keys, key hooks are the only solution to your problems. Key hooks, as long as they come with the right design, can be used at any part of the house.
Key hooks for keys to your boat, car, RV, or motorcycle can be mounted on the walls of your garage, living room, or hallway. Key hooks for keys to your bedrooms and other rooms of the house should, of course, be placed in a more secure area of your home. More to the point, it must be a place that visitors or strangers will not find easily accessible such as the master bedroom in the second floor or even the attic. Lastly, key hooks should be placed in the living room if you and the rest of the family have keys that you share among yourselves.
In choosing key hooks, make sure that each hook is large enough to handle different sizes of key rings or key holes. Definitely, the hook must be large enough to handle several sets of keys. There must also be sufficient spacing between key hooks in a single board.
Garden Stones
In the old days - and until the present day in some cases - the only way to warn visitors and strangers away from disturbing your flowers and plants was to create a wooden sign that tells them to “keep away”. But thanks to the creation of garden stones, you no longer have to appear rude while protecting the safety and health of your blooms.
Garden stones are pretty ornaments that also serve as message bearers. They tell visitors and strangers alike in a charmingly polite way of what you hope they would and would not do while they are in your territory.
There are garden stones, for instance, that bear messages such as “watch over my garden”. Hopefully, that will be enough to prevent people from stepping carelessly on plants that you have painstakingly watched over and nurtured from their seedling stages. Of course, do not think that garden stones will be useful against warning garden pests and insects away. That kind of threat deserves another kind of defense.
Signs or Signage
Signs can be used indoors or outdoors. Like garden stones, they are both ornamental and functional but only if you choose the ideal design. Signs are great as a design fixture or decor because they are something that people can immediately connect to. Abstract pieces, for instance, are beautiful as well but there is no denying that they only appeal to certain types of people while other people find them bizarre.
With signs or signage, people immediately know what their purpose is and the fact that they are also nice to look at is just an added bonus.
Signs or signage can also be made of different types of materials. Wooden signs are ideal for indoor use because they cannot withstand steady or extreme exposure to environmental elements. Paint and other design used on wooden signs will eventually fade away if they are constantly exposed to moisture. Metal signs are better for outdoor use but only if they have been given rust-proof protection. If not, they are best used indoors as well.
Animal Designs
Animals are probably one of the most commonly associated symbols with the country, even if you are only thinking about scenic meadows instead of rambling farms and ranches. If you want to give your city-based home a country-style feel or atmosphere to it, adding a few decoration pieces with animal themes will definitely be one way of doing so.
