Lamps are a great way to build in ambient lighting and here is one that builds in a theme too - that of cottage and country charm, of baskets laden with apples, sandwiches wrapped in brown paper and picnics by the stream. An old world charm permeates the very feel and emotion this age old design evokes and to add this to one's home or personal space with it brings that fresh country feel in. Made of wood, the hand carved stem displays excellent wood crafting. The height of the lamp is 58 cm making it tall enough to be used in corners so as to illuminate those areas where the ceiling or wall lights do not reach. The lamp's rattan weave shade will filter out the light through its crevices and make the illumination effect quite unique. The rattan shade has been given a white colour wash that contrasts beautifully with the wooden base of the lamp. Tall and elegant, this is a sure find from homes that could do with some uplifting of looks using right illumination.
