We’ve been carrying our Tile Placemat/Trivet for a little while now and it’s become the kind of piece that really draws customers in. The tile design is inspired by classic Mediterranean patterns, and it’s the sort of look that works with both modern kitchens and more traditional dining rooms. It looks amazing when customers use them as table centrepieces or even just to put some interest under a pot plant. And because they’re a good size at 25x25cm, you can see the pattern from across the room.
We use ceramic on top and cork underneath. That means they’re really solid and they stay put – plus the cork stops things getting scratched or slipping about. We’ve also noticed these work well as trivets, just because that thicker ceramic can take a lot of heat.
We can see these going well in homewares shops, kitchen boutiques, gift shops - even garden centres looking for something that adds colour to outdoor areas. They’ve got this way of making functional tablescapes feel just a bit more special and with their unique patterns, we think these will be picked up as gifts again and again.
