Portugese Bird Candle Holder
SKU: VD6208-2
The cobalt blue on this bird candle holder is just stunning, but it's really the shape that's got us excited to share it. It's got a fairly minimalist look, but with lots of intricate floral and leaf motifs that have a lot of the whimsy we've come to expect from traditional Portuguese pottery. At 18x5x11cm, it's best for standard taper candles (we've got some nice ones in stock!) but could also be used as a display piece by itself - we've seen our clients use them both ways.

This items is hand finished so variations in the glaze will occur. This is not considered a fault.
We always get a smile when these little Portuguese Bird Candle Holders come in - it’s partly the bright blue and white hand-finished glaze, and partly the playful shape. The design is classic but quite contemporary with its clean lines, stylised wings, and delicate details. We find the ceramic adds a handcrafted quality to every piece that easily matches Mediterranean decor, or sits just as nicely in farmhouse and coastal themes. The finish always varies a little - sometimes a hint more white or blue in places - which creates a batch of unique miniatures that still sit together perfectly on display.
Each bird is 18 x 5 x 11 cm so it’s not too big for side tables and not too small for shelf displays. They’re great for gifting or mixing through homewares. We’ve seen these paired with pillar candles, regular tapers and even wide cones - they never look out of place.
