Serving Oval Platter Waiau
SKU: OZ4010-2
Serve up in style with this soft grey oval platter. Our Waiau Serving Platter is all about that handcrafted, organic finish with its slightly rustic and uneven rim and glazed finish. At 41.5x19.5x3.5cm, it’s big enough for main courses or sides, but not so large that it won’t fit on a table - so you can stock these for entertaining or for dinnerware display. And because that neutral colour is so versatile, customers will be able to style it as part of a set or as a single serveware option.

Please note this item is finished using a reactive glaze so each piece is slightly different. This is the beauty of this style of glaze. This item is dishwasher and microwave safe.
The Serving Oval Platter Waiau has this lovely muted grey that’s not quite taupe and not quite full-grey, but right in that earthy, comforting middle. It’s the hand-finished rim, though, where you realise why this reactive glaze style is getting so much attention - that organic, raw edge just refuses to be too neat, and it really makes the whole platter have real presence on the table.
It’s stoneware and dishwasher safe (including for microwave use), which opens things up for both display and practical serving in a way even we didn’t expect at first. There’s a certain flexibility with these where they’re just as at home in a bistro-style wine bar setting or as giftware, they carry it all off. They’re not like typical platters because there’s always just a small difference each time; that slightly longer taper at the bottom edge or a slightly lighter accent here and there.
