There’s a special appeal to the pelican bottle opener - it looks like it’s been unearthed from a shipwreck but feels solid, easy to grip and use. And if we’re talking about utility - this product is as functional as it is ornamental.
What we particularly enjoyed about this product is the contradiction that the chunky, rugged cast iron with its sea-green finish provides when compared with the sinuous lines of the pelican’s beak. It’s almost like its designed to encourage you to keep using this one over and over. That eye-catching upright stance also lets you know that it would look fine resting on your bar counter or shelf, without looking out of place in your kitchen either.
Sized at 5x1.5x16.5cm - it’s a compact little thing that fits well in one hand, and definitely makes for a conversation-starter every time someone asks where they got that bottle opener from!
