Horse 43cm White
First off, it’s genuinely difficult not to stare at this horse sculpture. Not just because it has a commanding presence – at 43x11x38cm, we can safely say it won’t get lost on shelves – but also because of the level of realistic detail we’ve managed to get on this one. If you look at the mane you’ll notice each strand is individually carved in and then etched with light scoring lines. The reins come around the muzzle and attach to an intricately modelled bridle that goes up through the horse’s ears and back down under the jaw. And if you turn it around, the tail has such a realistic weave to it.
Made from resin, these pieces have a smooth finish that could almost pass for polished bone or marble. The raised right foot on the front gives it a sort of show-ready strut without feeling too formal or stern – serious character in this one. If you’re looking to stock a show piece this season, this horse is one that deserves attention.
