Wholesale Pillows And Throws

Every soft surface such as a couch or bed needs an elaborate pile of carefully arranged pillows and throws. Many people enjoy collecting an assortment of decorative cushions for their homes. Each one is more special than the next and oftentimes they are carefully selected. If even one cushion is out of place, it is the worst thing in the world. All jokes aside, cushions also make inviting places to rest our heads during a nap. A soft throw is good for occasions of relaxation as well as looking soft. There are a wide variety of pillows and throws to choose from at La Vida that suit nearly any style.

How to Place a Throw

Whether you prefer to fold them neatly or lay them out at the end of a chair, there are disputing theories on the best way to place a throw. One method for arranging a blanket is by folding it lengthwise and then laying it longwise over a chair, preferably with an attractive pillow in front of it. They can also be draped from the centre of a headboard. The folded coverlet can dress the arm of a chair or sofa for a different look. Or try hanging it on the back of a chair that is near a walk way. Piles of spreads that have been folded look neat lining shelves or tucked into baskets.  Heavy materials look better splayed out.

Splashes of Colour

In a monochromatic colour scheme it is good to break up the pattern every once in a while with a splash of colour. One of the easiest ways to do this in a living area or bedroom is with a bold cushion. Try to contrast the main colour of the cushion with the background. For example a red or fuchsia looks good with a neutral brown or beige. But white cushions would really stand out on a black sofa and vice versa. Another way to go is with a palette of matching shades, in which case there are probably pillows that match it. The rustic appearance of floral prints is an excellent addition to a country cottage theme.

Types of Cushions

There are several types of cushions and pillows to consider when adorning a soft surface. A lot of the matter depends on what style the designer is going for. Then the way that they are piled or arranged may play a significant role as well. For throw pillows the standard square stuffed with soft fibres is a traditional way to go. Wide and narrow cushions stand out in the front especially when bedecked with charming designs. Use as few or as many pillows as you want to create an area for relaxation that is truly special. Play around with interesting patterns and textures, like cloth flowers sewn onto a pillow.

Quilted Pillows

Cushions and head rests bearing a quilt pattern are a smaller version of the larger blankets. Quilted pillows are interesting because they match a lot of quilts and coverlets. The traditional appearance of brightly coloured scraps of fabric sewn together is appealing to many people. It is possible to quilt nearly any shape to a pillow. The only limit is the imagination. Common patterns are flowers, birds, owls, butterflies, cats, faeries, houses and more. Bright colours and inspiring words are a beneficial addition to a youth's room. But they also do well as part of a country inspired ambience in an adult's room.

Matching Table Runners

Buying cushions and table runners in sets makes sense because they will always match each other. A table runner is a narrow piece of decorative fabric that can be set on the middle of a table for colour. In a pinch they can also do the same on padded chairs, sofas, and headboards. Elegant and beautiful table runners have many uses. They can run along dining room tables, coffee tables, even side tables and mantle pieces. Sometimes they are draped over the top of a book shelf to fall on either side. This is a great way to call attention to a shelf full of interesting merchandise.
