Sturdy and kind of whimsical, this cast iron frog’s a crowd pleaser - its chunky shape and crouching stance gives it a bit of life without being too kitschy or cartoonish. The weathered finish, webbed feet, and little nubs at the eyes all play off its real world counterpart for an accent piece that doesn’t stand out too much on more rustic tables or shelves. And while we like keeping these by entrances as paperweights or doorstops, they’re also excellent garden accents where their weightiness can work with outdoor spaces too.

Frog Sir Croaks. You can tell we had a bit of fun with this name, but it fits - this friendly cast iron frog makes a pretty charming companion in many spaces. Not all animal sculptures are modern art or traditional taxidermy - some are small and understated, like Frog Sir Croaks. At just under 20cm at its longest end, it's really not very large - meaning it's more than easy to place on low tables and any sort of open arrangement in a foyer or sitting room. We find the minimal metalwork detail and matte brown colouring lends it well to outdoor arrangements or themed gardens, but plenty of people have them as bookends in reading nooks as well (they are fairly weighty after all). It feels easier than you'd expect to get creative with it, so we've mostly been suggesting it for homeware retailers who cater to families or mid-century maximalism enthusiasts.
