Shell Hook
Shell Hook
This Shell Hook is nautical without being kitsch. A bit of sailor’s rope and a distressed, weathered wooden base that has a fair bit of grain and a touch of blue. It’s made out to look like one of those jetty offcuts you might spot at one of Sydney’s smaller beaches - like maybe Bronte or Tamarama, and it’s finished with a painted shell hook that gives off that timeworn, almost-industrial theme.
Think beach house entryways, seaside offices, on the back of bathroom doors. It has room for two towels and the blue tones do lend themselves to more coastal themes but we have seen this used in some pretty alternative spaces as well.
And just to be clear, the “shell hook” isn’t real shell. It’s still metal and painted with matte whites to bring out the texture. But it does have an almost seashell finish.
