Sometimes, the best way to get people talking about poultry-themed decoration is with a piece that knows what it’s doing. The Tall White Hen stands up proud and firm at 32x13x30cm, so there’s plenty of visual presence for a centrepiece or a little extra chicken charm in the corner of the room.
With grey and black feathers all through the body and wings, there’s something familiar but not quite old-fashioned about how the patterns all come together. The real focus comes from the bright red comb and wattle, though. You’ve got that chunky white contrast running along with a little bit of black feathering in there - it’s something that works with farmhouse and contemporary style alike.
The legs are a black iron so they don’t feel as dainty as they could have been, while that rough texturing along the body and head makes it all feel just a bit more rustic and homely.
