The luxuriously painted Ginger Jar Blue Palm is a classic piece that showcases a shapely jar with a domed lid and having the intricate design of a seaside. Visible on this seaside motif are a group of flying birds, rocks, palm trees, and a sailboat. All are rendered in the traditional bright blue against an immaculately white surface.

Did you know that ginger jars were initially used in transporting precious spices such as ginger from China all the way to the West? When it got to the West, it naturally got its name from the spices which were contained inside, hence, 'ginger jars'. Today, however, they are no longer used for transporting precious spices any longer, but are precious decorative items and this particular Ginger Jar Blue Palm is a decorative masterpiece.
